D escription: Damage to glass more often than not occurs due to events other than design loading. The concepts of redundancy, retention, and residual ca pacity will be discussed to increase the safe use of glass by preventing co llapse, fall-out, and continuing to perform vital roles after damage due to non-design events. The recommendations include in-service, partially damag ed state and fully fractured state.
Richard Green is a Prin cipal and Owner of Green Facades LLC. and is a global expert in the area of facades and structural glass and his expertise encompasses all stages of b uilding enclosures life-cycle. Richard's specially is the design and analys is of the complex façade structures. He has been involved with a number of world-leading and award-winning projects covering a wide range of building types. He is the technical chair for the ASTM Structural Glass Committee an d has an advisory role to Eurocode EC11.
